Hi everyone, I’m now also working on a feature about married women who’ve had abortions, whether it’s because their family is already complete, financial reasons or maybe the strain it would put on their relationship would be too much. Knowing how hard a decision it is, please be assured you’d be treated very sensitively. If you’re willing to talk about your experiences or know someone who might, then please get in touch. Cheers,Sarah

Married women who’ve had abortions

well, me myself went through 2 abortion in less than a year. I’m a married woman, with 3 kids already. the eldest one is a boy who just entered primary 1, the second one is a 5 years old boy.the last one is a girl, she’s only 18 mths old. the abortion happened after the having the last baby. she was only 8 mths old, when we found out i got pregnant again. and it’s true than we weren’t using any protection / birth control. and during that time, i can not afford to take care another one. all the 3 children are taken care by me, the father goes to work. the children studying / homework all are being taken care by me. sometime my hubby will help when he’s free, but he got no patient to teach and they are all scared to ask him. so as it was a careless act, we decide to abort.i wouldn’t be able to care for another baby with all these housework and teaching the kids and to do breastfeeding again and have to do shopping for groceries, so we decide it’s best to abort. well, a few month went by, and we still didn;t take any birth control. we only used condoms…and it happened again. this time it was more difficult to make decision, as it happened again although there were some kind of protection that we use. so it was a 50 – 50 kind of thinking. but in the end, again we decided to abort. still the main reason would be i can not take a 4th baby with that kind of attention that were given to my 1st baby. even now my 3rd baby already late in eating solid food. she’s 1 and a half year still drinking milk like 5 bottles a day. last time my 1st baby by the time he’s 1 1/2 years old. only drinks 3 time milk only. i’ve got my hand full with housework, sending children to and fro school, help them with homework, doing some shopping.then the 2nd reason would be money. sure baby wouldn;t cost that much, but those checking up to the doctor, and the delivery it seld. provided it would be a normal one, what if something happen than need to be operated ? than there’s the confinement problem, when the mother in confinement who’s going to take the children to school..??? the grandmother can’t really help much. we would need to hire someone to help do the housework…it’s so troublesome and difficult. then there’s this job problem, my hubby company has been downsizing it’s size recently. luckily he was’t on the department that got downsized.what if he’s being downsize…God forbid..yes, i’m a catholic and i’ve been doing two times abortion. all i have to say is this is not about reliegion things, it’s about reality, wheter i have the capability t o raise my kids according to the standard that i wanted them to have.

I am planning on having an abortion. I am a working mother with 3 children whom I love dearly. My husband and I are at a very stable place in life and to add a 4th child would add a great deal of strain from all aspects. I am over 35 now and had no intention of adding another child the mix. We had been taking precautions, but were apprarently not careful enough. It is a tough decision, and I have had to weigh all factors in making a decision that looks out for the family’s best interests. We will do this together, my husband and I, and once complete take permanent steps in prevention. This is not something I will share with friends and family but wanted to state that even this difficult decision is not just something people who are careless or involved in a tragic incident face. Everyday, successful, people may find themselves faced with making this decision……………
